USB camera not usable under Linux 9.4

On scyther.mit.edu, a Linux-Athena 9.4.10 machine:
When plugging my USB camera (Kodak EasyShare CX4230), which worked under
9.3:
From dmesg:
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using address 6
usb 3-1: control timeout on ep0out
usb 3-1: control timeout on ep0out
usb 3-1: device not accepting address 6, error -110
usb 3-1: new full speed USB device using address 7
usb 3-1: control timeout on ep0out

This, of course, makes the camera unusable. This does not appear to be
a camera hardware problem, since it works fine on my Ubuntu for Power PC
