Unfortunately, it is both incorrect but desired. This argument came
up when xlogin was to originally be released and it was reaslized
people could easilly get a machine in a state where they had to
reboot. (i.e. custom login with "more /etc/ttys." It came down that
the wording had to be changed in order that people don't stupidly
hang themselves. By asking for a shell script, users would be
encouraged to write a script that did something....
If you can convince the proper authorities (user services and
educational initiatives) that this is stupid (as I believe as well),
I'll change it.
