It's a pain editing the /etc/ttys file on almost every machine I
update.  All the mkserv'd workstations (with graphics displays) need
ttys edited to get toehold back and the RT servers need ttys edited to
make the console usable for emacs.  Will ttys be replaced every
release?  If so, it might be worth the effort to preserve as much as
possible of the old /etc/ttys.  That is, if the Xqvss line was not
commented out in the old file, don't comment it out in the new file.
If it could be possible to preserve ttys lines for modems and such,
that would be even better.

The dangers are than the more-complex ttys-update script may go awry,
and old, obsolete ttys lines may live forever.
