Hmm. This may to have had something to do with hitting alt-tab (the
gimp suggested it as a keyboard binding). I can get to one zephyr at
a time by cycling through the available windows using alt-tab.
Unfortunately, I cannot replicate this by wanton hitting of alt-tab on
another 9.3 machine, so I'm still not sure what caused it.
(jdreed says this is true for non-sawfish windowmanagers, but I'm
running sawfish).
