I built and installed lynx version 2.8.5, on both platforms;
for now, you can invoke it as lynx-2.8.5. It seems to run fine
on 9.3.
Note that, other than setting web.mit.edu as the home page,
I have not customized this yet. I will do so as time permits,
and as I figure out what is needed here. Barring complications,
the plan is to make this the default version before 9.3 goes
public.
