Reminder: Panel positions absolutely, and refreshes on logout

I was briefly surprised today when I came in and found my logout button,
and my date/time applet squished over to the left instead of on the far
right of panel where I expect them.

And then I remembered I'd logged onto a test machine that had an 800x600
display.

Ah the joys of "roaming profiles"...

Alas, to enable the concept of "all the way to the right" would probably
introduce nasty amounts of complexity into the panel, so I really can't
suggest any sensible "fix". I'm sending this note as a reminder that we
may encounter this sort of issue from users if they have displays of
various sizes. Also, I might be wrong. There might be a clever and
simple solution.
