Interesting. madplay worked.

I've done a little more testing. I KNOW
http://web.mit.edu/wdc/www/poetry/manners.mp3 worked in the past, so I
used that as a test case.

Repeat by:

Go to: http://web.mit.edu/wdc/www/poetry/songs.html
click on "Music" link associated with the poem "Manners".

Old behavior:

Watch as mpg123 window would pop up to control the song.

Current behavior:

No indication of anything happening on screen.
Silence.

Note that if I do:

	mpg123 ~/www/poetry/manners.mp3

I get:

High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layer 1, 2 and 3.

Playing MPEG stream from manners.mp3 ...
Junk at the beginning 49443303
MPEG 1.0 layer III, 192 kbit/s, 44100 Hz joint-stereo

So there are probably a couple subtle things that are going on, but the
net result is that people are going to get unexpected silence and lack
of visual indication of anything happening.

Perhaps it's an artifact of the mp3 file, but I just tried to
play an mp3 using mpg123 on my Dell Optiplex running 9.2.7. This used
to work.

Now I get:

tokata.mit.edu% mpg123 /tmp/fourvoices-nononora.mp3
