What were you trying to do?
Cut and paste from xterm into emacs.
What's wrong:
The bug with emacs failing to recognize selections other than
those made from within emacs is happening again.
I make a selection in an xterm, and try to paste into emacs.
It doesn't work. I make a selection using the left and right
buttons in emacs, and the selection in the xterm DOESN'T
UNSELECT, but I can paste tha selection back into the emacs OR
INTO AN XTERM.
Note that this is not the only problem I have noticed with
cut-and-paste with the newest emacs. Whenever I select
something from xterm, it often takes two, three or even more
button presses of the middle mouse button in the emacs window
before the text finally pastes.
What should have happened:
Emacs should not be putting things into the cut buffer instead
of the primary selection, as it appears to be in this
particular case (although I may have misdiagnosed this).
Furthermore, when I try to paste into it, it should paste the
first time, not the third or fourth.
