Testers:

A default signature of "None" should be coded into the Athena Evolution
defaults.

Tom:

Here is the sequence of commands to do that for yourself.

MenuBar:  "Tools" -> "Settings..."
"Mail Accounts" selection.

Click on "MIT mail [Default]"
Click ion "Edit" which should no longer be grayed out.

Under the "Identity" tab, select "None" as your default signature, or
"Add new signature..." if you want a custom one.
