I can reproduce your "default language is Spanish" problem. Not sure
how easy it will be to fix.

Well, that setting (ghelp-show=nautilus) doesn't appear in systest's
dotfiles. My guess is that Nautilus itself is setting it. Andrew, you
should look into making nautilus not set itself up as the gnome help
viewer until such a time as we can build it with HTML support.

I do so this, when I exit gnome-help-browser.

Unfortunately, I think we could spend a long time trying to make GNOME
programs stop spewing apparently harmless error messages, and still not
make much headway.
