Hi folks,

I'm trying to update three of our alpha machines to 9.1 and haven't gotten
a clean update on any- I started the updates last night and had to leave
before they completed. This morning all 3 machines were "frozen" (no response
to keyboard or mouse) so I rebooted them. Details below:

augmented (SGI O2)- I ran as root:

detach -a
attach -O dev-sgisys-91
update_ws

After reboot- the machine comes back with a 9.1 X login screen; I can
log in, but I also get the "No system menus found!" error dialog as noted
by rbasch.

*****

allegretto (Sun Ultra 10)- I ran as root:

detach -a
attach -O dev-sun4sys-91
update_ws

During reboot, I saw the following message flash by:

This machine is in the middle of an update. Please contact Athena opeations.

It comes up as Athena 9.0. I retry the update- I get the message above again
and nothing further happens.

*****

astrophel (Linux)- I ran as root:

update_ws 9.1

After reboot- I get a text login screen- not X. It looks like it updated
because it says Red Hat Release 7.2
                Kernel 2.4.9-31

I can log in but see no obvious way to get it into X.

                                                      Alex
