I don't know about the 'stty -tostop'. I can't find a pattern for the
dying. My guess would be that it coincides with the arrival of some
kind of message. I tried sending myself all different kinds of messages
(classes + instances) to see if there was a particular part of my
.zwgc.desc which might be bad. So far, no luck.
I've had it die at many different times, during emacs, during discuss,
while exiting dicuss, while doing nothing. I doubt the 'stty -tostop' for
that reason.
This was on an RT (dialup5) if that helps any. I have yet to try a vax.
