I just noticed that under some conditions, xterm repainting can be
*extremely* slow (again, no gnome).

If I take an 80x48 xterm and move it, or occlude it, _sometimes_
it takes about 600ms to repaint. Other times it is instantaneous.
I can't really find a pattern. Every time I think I have it reproducible,
when I grab my stopwatch and a third hand, it stops happening.

I wonder if there is some sort of caching timeout affecting it.

I don't know what else to say. I could run xterm under xscope, but
I'm not sure how that would help.
