A few things seem to be missing:
Running standard startup activities ...
zwgc: Command not found.
astrophel[~][42] lpq -Pleander
Printer 'leander@localhost' - cannot open connection - Connection refused
Make sure LPD server is running on the server
astrophel[~][43] ls /etc/hosts
ls: /etc/hosts: No such file or directory
(I didn't actually login under 8.3.31 before trying the update, so I
spose this might predate 8.4.0.) The log has a fair number of
complaints of this ilk:
cannot remove /usr/athena/config - directory not empty
package not found in file index
package not found in file index
