I put out another build of the packs today. I moved emacs and zwgc to
.deleted, so hopefully they shouldn't dump core because of the volume
release. Bugs which are fixed in this build:
* tex can find itself now, I hope.
* Our sendmail is installed.
* intlfonts are installed.
* perl should run on the indy.
* xss-command should be able to find xss-demo.
* xlogin on IRIX shouldn't get an X error from setting the
font path.
* tcsh on IRIX shouldn't complain about setpgid in a pipeline.
* We now believe tcsh ~foo expansion always worked unless
your named is Garry.
* The console app-defaults aren't missing any more.
* emacs M-x info uses default directories even if you have an
INFOPATH set.
* xdm doesn't run when you do a console login on IRIX, so it
won't continually try to restart the X server.
* "man" under IRIX didn't always read input in character mode
due to something funny with the man pager.
A new feature:
* You can use attachandrun --check to see if an executable
exists in the place you want.
Bugs which were fixed in the last build and which have been
reintroduced:
* named can't handle class HS lookups, leading to the spurious
xlogin warning for accounts with no group list. We'll do
something intelligent about this soon.
Bugs which may or may not have been introduced in the last build and
which have been fixed if so:
* named couldn't handle class IN lookups for domains outside
of mit.edu. This bug has been observed to happen on one 8.3
machine (an Indy) and not happen on another (an O2).
Known bugs which have not been fixed in this build:
* Under some circumstances (root console login on Solaris,
sshd on IRIX, maybe other cases), the motd will be displayed
twice.
