I would expect things like this to happen if you logged in while a
workstation is reactivating. It is a longstanding bug that, while a
workstation won't start reactivating while a user is logged in, a user
can log in just fine while a machine has already started reactivating.
I don't think this got any worse in the 8.2 release.
