I think this is one of those last serious bugs in 7.7 that needs
handling. I think in general re-installing is a very poor option,
since many private workstation owners may have local customizations or
data on their workstations. Keep in mind also that in the case of an
emergency where we need to do more than 2 7.7 releases, we can use
7.8.
