I like the (c) option also but I think its a little late in the game to be
implementing that.  The time for that change was before this release hit the
public clusters.

I'm currently using detach -C -a to clean up the mountpoints when I log in.  
You can run this on logout after the /etc/passwd file is cleaned up or anytime
after/during the logon process.

My contention is that cleaning mountpoints should be part of the logout 
cleanup process.  I think we all agree that common mountpoints are a potential
problem and I propose that the problem be dealt with in this release since
there is now a mechanism for cleaning up at logout.  In the next release, the
issue of common mountpoints can be dealt with more directly in the attach 
process.
