Figure out why it is that every time I take an update on my sun, I get an error to the effect of "cp: cannot access: /srvd/\" partway through the update. What's wrong: The update should not print errormessages unless there is a real problem What should have happened: The update shouldn't have tried to cp something it couldn't access. Please describe any relevant documentation references: I think I may have found the cause of this bug. I suspect (although I have no good way of testing it) that the bug will go away if you remove the trailing whitespace on lines 99 and 107 of /srvd/usr/athena/lib/update/do_update.
