That user who was reporting a Maple bug did some checking, and it
looks like the bug was related to fvwm.

I tried the graph again, on M4-176-6, and the problem occurred again.
I read in the commands from turns (which is available from my public
directory and also in my home directory) by typing
read(turns);
Then I executed
turns(5,6,2,4,1);
to generate a 3-D graph of a torus wrapped by a "twisted torus." The
calculations turns makes are intensive and take about ten to fifteen
minutes on this Sun Workstation. Then I got the 3-D graph window and
with the mouse adjusted theta to 60 and phi to 45. Next I selected
Patch w/o Grid from the Style menu and No Coloring and Light Scheme
Four from the Color menu. Next I pressed the middle mouse button to
redraw the graph, which came out fine. Then I tried to select Print
from the File menu and Postscript from the submenu which appeared, but
nothing happened.
Then I had the idea that since the fvwm window manager, which I was
running at the time, had a few other problems (which I mentioned in
the last message), maybe it could be causing this one too. So I
killed fvwm and then restarted it. Still, the dialog box did not
appear. I then killed fvwm again and started up mwm. This time, when
I tried the File/Print/PostScript command, it popped up the dialog
box; I typed my filename and pressed the Confirm button with the
mouse, and it started outputting the plot to the file. After about
twenty minutes, it was done, and I printed the picture and got nice
output. So I think this was another bug on the part of the fvwm
program and not necessarily the fault of the Maple 3D graph window.
