Emacs problem on the new sparcs

Well, I found this to be quite annoying. I was editing a file in emacs,
mscdemo.c, in C mode. I did a CTRL-v to move down one page, and the window
froze. after about fifteen seconds, the window disappeared, and I received
this message in the window from which I had launched the emacs session:
m16-034-17<~/News>% Fatal error (10).
[2] Bus error emacs mscdemo.c (core dumped)
The time was 15:30, July 27.
