"from -r" still dies (Killed) if the from field is sufficiently long.
I had one message from:

"John Linn. 508.486.6588. DTN 226-6588.  06-Aug-1991 1626" <linn@zendia.enet.dec.com>

This from line was sufficient to cause "from -r" to die on the rios.
