   The new login is just the same as the old, but slower.  
   I don't see any reason to change.

Actually, the new login is quite a bit faster than the old one.  I
suspect that you experienced slowness because you were logged in on
the VS2 test workstation; VS2's in general are the slowest of the
workstations we support, which would explain what you experienced.
However, I can assure you that the new login running on a VS2 is
faster than the old login running on the same VS2.
