Release effort underway
Network Associates has released an upgrade to Virus Scan for Windows
platforms that we are currently testing. This update adds Windows
Millenium Edition to the other supported platforms ( win 95/98/NT and
Win2K)
Features
This release has two new features that enhance the product for us.
SuperDAT files, which contain both virus definitions and a virus
engine, will no longer have to be specially downloaded. Normal
scheulded updates will pick up both DAT and SuperDAT files.
Scanning. set up to scan all files will no longer be necessary due to
a new default scan option that will check all known file types that
have been infected. This list will be updated with the DAT file
updates.
Testing
The installation has been tested all supported platforms. operational
testing is underway.
Status of release effort
We anticipate release of Viruscan version 4.5.1 about the third week
of June.
