Good Afternoon,
The Software Release Team is proud to announce support for KLP 1.0 for Windows.
We have been working for the past few months with members of the MIT
community and Project Pismere to work out the bugs and improve KLP. KLP is
a replacement for WLPR Spooler.
New Features
-----------------------
1. Hesiod lookup of printer
2. Kerberized print job management (command line)
3. Emulates many LPRng options, including Hesiod and Zephyr
4. 32-bit support
Compatibility Issues
--------------------------------
WARNING! Users should not install KLP on Pismere machines using this
installer. The distribution of KLP to Pismere machines is managed via group
policies within the WIN domain. KLP is installed by default on all Pismere
machines. If Pismere users are experiencing problems with KLP please send
mail to pismere-bugs@mit.edu.
A compatibility issue between KLP and Hummingbird LP was found during the
testing. If you use Hummingbird LP, do not install KLP.
KLP requires Kerberos for Windows 2.1. KLP is not supported under Windows
ME. Testing has shown sporadic behavior with that version of the operating
system depending on the printer drivers used.

KLP is being distributed as a Microsoft Installer (MSI). For more
information on determining if you need to install the Microsoft Installer
Service before you can install KLP and for instructions on setting up
printers with KLP, see the documentation:
