MIT Information Systems is proud to announce support for Secure CRT
4.0.3.
Who Should Download and Why
------------------------------
Secure CRT 4.0.3 is a terminal emulation program for Windows that
supports the SSH2 protocol. If you prefer SSH2 or are having trouble
connecting securely to Athena with HostExplorer, and do not need TN3270
support for connecting to the mainframes then you should download this
program.
This program is not a critical update, though we recommend that if you
are using an earlier version of Secure CRT, that you upgrade to this
one. If your department has a local computer administrator, then IS
recommends that you consult him or her before downloading and installing
this new software. If your department does not have a local computer
administrator, then IS recommends that you carefully review the list of
features and determine whether you would benefit from them before
downloading and installing it.
Notable Features and Bug Fixes
------------------------------
- Supports SSH, Telnet, serial, and other protocols
- Activator tray utility minimizes desktop clutter
- Secure Shell encrypted logon, session data
Known Issues
-------------
- You cannot use SecureCRT to connect to TN3270 servers such as
MITVMA/MITVMC (use HostExplorer for this purpose -
http://web.mit.edu/is/pubs/ns-55/ ).
