Good morning,

Information Systems is pleased to announce support for core
applications on Mac OS X 10.1.5 and 10.2. The core applications are:

Acrobat Reader 5.0.5
Eudora 5.2
Dreamweaver MX
Fetch 4.0.2
FileMaker 5.5
Microsoft Office v. X
Netscape 6.2.3
Tivoli Storage Manager 5.1.5
Virex 7

Support for these applications, except Dreamweaver MX, begins today.
Support for Dreamweaver MX will begin on November 26. Annoucements
will be forthcoming from the various product release teams with the
details of the applications, known issues, system requirements, etc.

Support for enterprise applications will begin in February 2003.

What users should do now
------------------------
Users of earlier versions of Mac OS X should plan to be at Mac OS X
10.2 by the end of January 2003. See
http://web.mit.edu/is/help/macos/macos10.2/ for instructions on
performing the upgrade.

Users of Mac OS 8.6 through 9.2.2 who have been waiting for support
of core applications can start the planning process for upgrading to
Mac OS X 10.2 if they wish. See
http://web.mit.edu/is/help/macos/macos10.2/ on what they should
consider before attempting to perform the upgrade. While Mac OS 8.6
and 9.0.4 will be retired on June 30, 2003, we expect to be
supporting Mac OS 9.2.2 for the foreseeable future.

How to obtain Mac OS X 10.2

Information Systems has purchased Mac OS X licenses for the MIT
community. To request a license for Mac OS X 10.2, go to the Mac OS X
