Information Systems announces today that we are on track for
providing support for core applications under Mac OS X 10.2 "Jaguar"
later this fall. The results of our 30-day evaluation are that core
applications function well under Mac OS X 10.2. However, we are
waiting for updates to Virex and Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), our
supported anti-virus and backup programs. The new versions of these
applications will need to be tested to ensure they function correctly
under Mac OS X 10.2 before we are able to offer broader support.

Our recommendation is that existing Mac OS X 10.1.5 users that
require support from Information Systems stay with 10.1.5 and not
upgrade to Mac OS X 10.2 at this time.

Security Update 2002-09-20 was released on September 20. This update
fixes a potential vulnerability introduced in Terminal version 1.3
(v81) that shipped with Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) which could allow an
attacker to remotely execute arbitrary commands on the user's system.
This update should be applied immediately using either Software
Update or by downloading it from
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120150.
Mac OS X 10.2.1 was released by Apple on September 18. It provides
many bug fixes and enhancements; details are available at
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107036. Information
Systems recommends that existing Mac OS X 10.2 users install this
update.
