I have no problem with a just in case purchase if those close to the issue,
Bob, Greg, and your team, think it is a good decision. I would assume this
would not change future arguments into 'since we already own this, or the
price is right'. This kind of purchase would have to mean that the related
discovery is done a little differently in the future. We already have a
history on this kind of purchase as a few years ago we spent 15K just in
case EDI was not ready for COEUS.
BTW, Theresa is managing the software pool with Ken this year. I remain
interested but do not have a primary role.
On another note, 17K is below the limit of large purchases that we were
originally allocating to the pool. We had decided that purchases over 30K
would go here. However, since this is an add on Theresa may see this
differently or may want to change the rules.
