Greetings,
I have been looking/playing with the accounting file to see what happens
when multiple copy files are printed.
The interesting thing is when printing a multiple copy, pdf file to the
ip60 in W91, I get the same page count for simplex and duplex. For six
copies of a two page document, the page count is 13 for either simplex or
duplex, even though 14 actual physical pieces of paper are used (header
sheet, 12 pages of output, trailer sheet) or duplex 8 physical sheets
(header sheet, 6 pages of output, trailer sheet).
I do not claim to understand or even want to understand accounting, but
thought this might be significant, in that whether simplex or duplex it is
reporting the same number of pages. I don't know if this will affect the
charging, but thought I would pass the information along.
I have not yet done any significant testing on the "afp" printing to the
ip60 yet. I got the darn thing to print and it is not one of the
candidates for charging anyway.
I have been trying to test multiple copies to the "passthrough" postscript
printers but at this moment I am getting errors and no output when I
attempt to print multiple copies to the 8100.
Unfortunately the error message I am getting does not fall in the numeric
range accessible via the pdmsg command. I have sent mail off to Jeff Banta
to find out the meaning of the message and how to fix it. ( I have also
asked if there is a messages and codes manual).
I will keep you informed as I get more successful tests.
