Hi Dan,

Here is a high level overview of what we need at MIT. Thank you very much
for your idea of running a kerberized LPR on or AIX box to support our
KLPR client infrastructure. I have verified that our IPM servers use lpd
to support remote print requests. If we could replace this with a kerberized
version it would meet an important need for us. We would also like to
discuss with you various options for providing the authenticated function
needed by the operations and sys admin staff. We want to be able to run
the Java clients in a secure and authenticated manner.

As a further development from our previous discussion, we have decided that
it will be most appropriate for us if the web interface is based on Apache.
We also want access to the source code so that we can enhance it on our own.

I look forward to speaking with you on Monday - hopefully in 1 - 1:30pm EST
time frame.

Sincerely,
Rocklyn E. Clarke
