Hi Jeff,

Dan Cogswell from IBM will be working with us to customize the InfoPrint
Manager software for use at MIT. Towards this end, he will need a Kerbeos
Principal so that he can test his kerberized code. Please set one up for him
that will be valid for at least the next 6 months. Let me know if you need
any other information. I assume that "danutek" is the appropriate principal
to use.

He will probably also need a server certificate in the near future. I will
let you know when he is ready for that step.

Thanks,
Rocklyn

Here is some stuff on the Port Monitor. I'll be sending some more stuff as
well. This gives an overview of how it all works.

Hi Dan,

I apologize for not getting back to you earlier. I was tied up with other
tasks and then I was at the SHARE conference for a week. I will send some
additional email that should explain our requirements. We have just
actually
ordered IPM (the latest version) to run under AIX with DCE. As I explained
to you over the phone, we are not a DCE shop, but we want to leverage the
existing kerberos support to allow the client to interface with our
Kerberos
server. This is now a fallback position for us, since the software pieces
that you are working on should make this unnecessary.

Please do send the documentation for the port monitor interface. I have
spoken with both Alexandra Ellwood and Brad Thompson. They are not
actually
part of our team, although they both work for our department. Alexandra is
currently tied up with work on Mac OS X (which will include full Kerberos
support by the way). Brad may be able to work on a kerberized port monitor
for IPM, but he would like to see more extensive documentation first. More
specifically, he would like to see the relevant source code for the server
portion (I have copied him on this email so that he can clarify). Of
course
we understand that this may require non-disclosure agreements.

I will send more specific email about our requirements shortly.
