Hi, Daniel
I'm writing to alert you to a change that's coming up in central print
services (W91) that will affect large SAP print jobs printed on the central
printers in W91. There was a presentation and Q&A session a few weeks ago
for an FSS group, Rosenberg et al, and a trainer might have been at that.
Don't know if any info from it came your way.
The Enterprise Printing Discovery/Delivery project appears to be within
months of providing a new, network based service using IBM's InfoPrint
Manager (queue manager running on the RS6000 under AIX). Phase 1 of the
rollout w/be for one client only - Gil Emmons in CAO. Phase 2 will make the
service available to SAP users whose large print requests are currently
sent to the IBM mainframe (W91) for processing. The new print service is
invoked from within SAP - that is, the 3160 IBM printer will show up in the
Print Options box of SAP - and may be something that needs to be included
in SAP documentation and training.
Lynne Durland of the project team will invite you (any minute now) to
attend a demo of the new software. Is there anyone else in your area who
should also see it?
