Hi Jeff,

Here at last is our official request to IBM for enhancements to InfoPrint
Manager for use in kerberized (non DCE) environments. We are fairly confident
that we will need kerberized versions of the following products:

   IPM Server for AIX
   IPM Operations GUI for AIX
   IPM Administrator GUI for AIX
   InfoPrint Submit for Windows
   InfoPrint Select for Windows

We may also need to have the following products kerberized:

   Basic VSM GUI for AIX
   Advanced VSM GUI for AIX
   Basic AIX GUI
   Advanced AIX GUI

For each of these products we need to establish which of the following paths
to pursue:

   1. IBM will kerberize the product.
   2. IBM will provide MIT with source so that we can kerberize the product.
   3. IBM and MIT will collaborate on kerberizing the product.
   4. The product does not need to be kerberized.

Information about MIT's infrastructure requirements for applications and
systems and infrastructure components are available from the following URLs:

     http://web.mit.edu/is/integration/doc/requirements.html

     http://web.mit.edu/is/integration/infrastructure.html

The second of these URLs contains links to web pages about our Kerberos
authentication system.

Since we believe that a kerberized, non-DCE version of IPM will ultimately
benefit IBM and its general customers (in addition to MIT) I would like to
propose that IBM undertake this work at little or no cost to MIT. Please
let me know if this is acceptable and what information you need from us in
order to proceed.

Sincerely,
Rocklyn E. Clarke
