Hi Pete,
Items 9 & 10 are done already according to Rocklyn. Thanks! I wanted
to get the list to you ASAP and hadn't run it by the team for completness
and accuracy. Items 9 & 10 were included in the pending list despite
being done because we hadn't received word they were completed. Same
was true for the last certificate problem on pillage - the last email
was from Jeff asking for an authorized request.
Jody had suggested we all post any changes to the IPM server environment
to the change management list (ipm-cm@mit.edu). So, please let that
list know of any changes to the servers. In creating the pending list,
I realized printdel was not as diligent as we should be about making
all requests to asst via the asst-help list. I'll try to make sure we
do better with that to help you with tracking requests. There was some
earlier confusion around this due to your request to filter requests
thru you after the issue with Jody occurred. We'll try to make sure
all requests go to asst-help from now on.
Again, getting plunder into shape is probably the hottest item for the
delivery team right now. Thanks in advance for your help...

1) fix large file AIX restriction problem on Pillage & Plunder
(verbal request/discussion with Jody & Lynne ~1/22)
2) insure all certificates are renewed on Plunder (new)
3a) install Apache on Plunder with .htaccess mods from Miki
(req 1/7 & follow up 1/17 both to Jody; requested status on 2/11)
3b) install Web interface code and pages on Plunder; LED already
provided the directory info to asst-help on 2/11
4) install LPRng on Plunder with Pillage customizations (Garry)
4a) get Garry root access on Plunder (2/28 email to ipm-sys)
4b) increase filespace per Garry's request (2/28 email to ipm-sys)
5) pillage & plunder do not appear in the 'production list' or the
'complete list' on windsurf (reported on 2/13 to asst-help)
6) 'hostnames & clients' lists pillage as the test/dev machine and
plunder as production; these descriptions need to be reversed
(reported to asst-help on 2/13)
7) 'system descriptions & SNs' also needs to reverse the descriptions
for the two servers; plunder doesn't need to be 7x24; I would like
to suggest that pillage be changed to 'Gold' given the recovery
requirements to support Cat 1 business appls (reported on 2/13
via asst-help)
8) it was unclear what Field Service number should be used
for pillage/plunder h/w problems (reported 2/13 via asst-help)
Next two are done.
9) Cron job to periodically clear old log files on Pillage
From an inspection of /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root it looks as if
this was set up today to run every morning at 5am and clear the logs.
If so, this should mean that we will see the logs being cleared
starting tomorrow morning. Would you please confirm this?
(reported on 2/5 to asst; see next item)
10) I've just poked around the /var/mit/filter directory and the cron job
is working properly - there are only 7 days worth of log files
remaining. We still need to do the same thing for the
/var/mit/weblogs directory however. By the way, the old cron job that
runs /var/mit/daily_clean_ipm to clean up the files in
/var/mit/ipmdump is no longer needed. (reported 2/13 via asst-help)
Note: Castracker log #258562 was submitted by lambert@mitvma not
opermon.
