Rocklyn & others,
I agree with everything Rocklyn says below - and there are precedents
on some of the pieces we're requesting. It's not like ASST hasn't
dealt with Apache already on other servers maintained by ASST. We've
been saying all along that LPRng maintenance would be modeled after
Apache maintenance - there are other experts such as Garry & Miki
that ASST need to work with directly. We are a delivery project team
which needs to transition the on going maintenance work into standing
team space. And, the standing team for building and maintaining the
server is ASST.
Unfortunately, it is true there is still fuzz around IPM appl maintenance.
Roger has been tasked with resolving the organizational fit for this
work. As of last night, this is the second highest priority task in
Roger's queue. I would expect a final decision on this as soon as
next week or the week after.
I would suggest the points made by Rocklyn be discussed in person with
Jody. Lynne, if you feel you can handle this chat with Jody gently
but firmly, please do so. If not, let me know. I really believe a
face-to-face will be more effective than email. Let me know your
level of comfort.
