Accomplishments for the past period:
- Monthly GL Statements are printing as this report is being typed.
This print job is ~100K pages and represents ~25% of the page
printing previously performed on the mainframe!!!
- Held several meetings with R3-Print to resolve concerns & issues.
- Published new service announcement in the i/s Newsletter.
- Closely monitored IPM making minor adjustments to handle the
growing production workload. Adjusted retention period to
accommodate tight disk space.
- Finished testing GL with FSS and CAO. Adjusted print resolution
to satisfy CAO's requirements.
- Started working with ASST on large file problem on server caused
by a default AIX setting.
- Merged filter mods into single parameterized version of filter.
- Modified filter to email team when submission lack acct. no, bldg, or rm.
- Got Dan Cogswell to add byte count to jobs entries in job listing.
- Maintained web pages.
Goals for the coming period:
- Work on internal documentation (e.g., sys admin procedures/tasks)
- Complete printing an entire production General Ledger monthly print
(which is printing now).
- Get building and room number in banner page for postscript printers.
- Provide updated VM print accounting data for business model.
- Get completed .htaccess mods in MIT Apache distribution from Miki.
- Set up cron job to issue monthly accounting reports.
- Set up cron job to clean up filter logs.
- Add link to job format information in job listing.
- Reinstall IPM licenses now that Plunder is available again.
- Continue customer discussions wrt IPM rollout & network based
mainframe printing (ongoing).
Issues:
We still need to identify a backup/partner for Lynne's IPM work post
delivery.
Key learnings:
Just when you think you've communicated well and have everyone's
buy-in... Communicate, communicate, communicate. Clarify and
put in writing all agreements!
Team dynamics:
Great. Virtual hugs are abundant.
Additional comments:
Special thanks to Bob Ferrara for helping resolve some differing
opinions and perspectives with R3-Print, ITAG, OCP & Printdel.
