Hi Jeff,
During today's meeting, a question arose regarding the way in which PSF/VM
TCP/IP works. I understand that this product (soon to be in beta test) will
allow us to print from the mainframe to a network attached IP60 in the same
way that we currently print to a channel attached one. What we need ot know
at this point is what is the path that the print file takes from VM to the
printer? Which (if any) of the following takes place?
1. Print command issued from VM.
2. Print job moves to VM spool space.
3. Job grabbed by PSF/VM.
4. Job sent directly to network attached IP60.
5. Job prints.
or
1. Print command issued from VM.
2. Print job moves to VM spool space.
3. Job grabbed by PSF/VM.
4. Job sent to appropriate InfoPrint Manger queue (i.e. ogical destination)
5. Job prints.
Thanks,
Rocklyn
