 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Coming Together!
             Saturday August 11th
                 1 pm, Harvard Square>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Rally with the Harvard Living Wage Campaign, Eviction
Free Zone, Centro Presente, Boston Central Labor
Council AFL-CIO, workers, students and community
  members to say

  >>>>>>>> HARVARD MUST RESPECT COMMUNITY STANDARDS!

Despite gains made after the sit-in this spring,
Harvard still pays poverty wages and provides no
health benefits to many workers. This is a crucial
time to see that progress continues even under
  Harvard's new president, Larry Summers.

Its also time to make Larry Summers aware that
affordable housing is not just a daily struggle for
Harvard workers and their families, but is a vital
issue gripping every neighborhood and community. As
the largest landowner in Cambridge, as the new owner
of 271 acres in Allston-Brighton and as a property
  tax-exempt institution with a $19 billion bankroll
that is still expanding into Watertown and Boston,
Harvard has a major part in the affordable housing
crisis. We say Harvard must be part of its solution.

Coming from many diverse communities and towns, we
also call attention to Harvard's shameful treatment of
minority workers. For instance, of the workers who
make under a living wage (as defined by the city of
Cambridge), 74% are black or Latino. Harvard should
also work with the community to support its many
immigrant workers who live with everyday
discrimination, and who then have a even harder fight
for fair wages, workplace rights and the rights that
  are everybody's rights.

  Living Wage! Affordable Housing! Equality!
