It's fairly gruesome, but consider this as you read it: This is not
half of what people in other parts of the world face, who fight the
battle that the kids in Quebec fought. Death and worse are the regular
price for protest in Colombia, Guatemala, even Mexico. We can't
appreciate the horror of statistics (several hundred killed by
paramilitaries in Colombia. 45 dead in Acteal.), but maybe knowing
the story of one of those statistics will bring it home a little better.
