After the successful beginning of the sit-in this afternoon, it is
imperative that there is a large and visible show for support of the
protesters. We must, especially now, continue place outside pressure on the
University to grant a living wage for all Harvard workers.
ONGOING: PICKET OUTSIDE MASS HALL
People MUST be outside of Massachusetts Hall 24 hours a day in order to keep
observance and maintain a constant and pressing level of support for the
protestors. The safety of Living Wage Campaign members and the success of
this risky action depends on your presence. It is crucial that you join the
picket outside of Mass Hall at any time of the day or night.

It's a rare event to hear any Harvard janitors publicly discuss
their jobs, but that's what three of them will be doing tonight.
In recent years, Harvard has pushed janitors' wages far below not just
the city's living wage standard, but even the prevailing wage standard
for the area. Janitors at Northeastern, BU, and MIT all earn at least
$14.15 per hour -- roughly $5 per hour more than Harvard janitors.
Harvard's poverty wages force janitors to work two and three jobs -- as
many as 90 hours per week -- and still there are Harvard janitors who
regularly eat in soup kitchens and sleep in shelters.
Join the Living Wage Campaign as we host three janitors who will
speak out about the conditions they face.
And hear the commentaries of clergy, politicians, professors, and students
making a unified call for a living wage for all workers at our university.
