GREETINGS!
It is wonderful that so many of you came to the January 20th Boston Global
Action Network (BGAN) organizational meeting and signed up to work on the
IMF/World Bank issue--in spite of the snowstorm. Neither rain, nor snow, nor
sleet, nor hail will keep us from our appointed rounds...of screwing the
IMF. To those of you who didn't make it to that meeting, but want to work on
this issue, please join us and contribute to the struggle. You are more than
welcome.

1. FIRST MEETING/AGENDA:
The first meeting of the IMF/World Bank Working Group will be Tuesday,
January 25, at the office of United For A Fair Economy (UFE). UFE is very
easy to get to: the address is 37 Temple Place-2nd floor, Boston, about a
block from Park Street Station on the T. Their phone number is
(617)423-2148.
***BEFORE WE GO ANY FARTHER*** We realize that a number of you do not live
in the Boston area and will not necessarily be able to make it to meetings
regularly, but definitely want to be kept up to speed on what we're doing in
order to further your own efforts in your locations, as well as participate
in the Washington action on April 16. We will most certainly keep you
informed of the decisions/actions that the Working Group makes, including
sending you minutes from meetings and any further info we get from the 4/16
Washington organizers.
SOME PROPOSED AGENDA ITEMS (not necessarily in order):
a. April 16 in Washington, DC.: outreach, busses from Boston, etc.
b. April 16 in the Boston area: local targets?
c. World Bank Bonds: information on the campaign that 50 Years Is Enough is
running, suggestions for Boston activities.
d. Campus work: contacts, education, interested campus groups.
e. Organizing our Working Group into smaller task-focused committees.
f. Finding a sexy new name for the "IMF/World Bank Working Group": something
memorable and monosyllabic; a catchy acronym would be good. Everyone please
email in your suggestions. Someone on our list must have a talent for this
kind of thing....

2. EMAIL LIST: As you can see, this is a fairly primitive list. We plan to
upgrade this asap, but we wanted a way to communicate w/you all immediately.
Meanwhile, if you have questions, info, would like to have someone added to
the list, would like to unsubscribe (hopefully not!), etc, etc, please email
the address at the top and I will take care of that.

***PLEASE CHECK THE LIST BELOW AND MAKE SURE THAT I HAVE GOTTEN DOWN ALL
YOUR CONTACT INFO CORRECTLY***
The list we got at the January 20th meeting was amazingly legible--my
compliments to all on the high quality of your handwriting. There was only
one street name that I definitely couldn't read. Thanks for looking through
and checking this; please email me as soon as you can with any
corrections/additions.

Sincerely,
Martha London
