Sowore Omoyele has been a leader of the Nigerian pro-democracy movement since
1989. He organized many student protests against military dictatorships
despite being detained and tortured by the police several times. He is a
spokesman for Amnesty International's Campaign Against Torture. He will also
discuss the impact of multinational oil companies in the Niger Delta.
