   A Conversation with Nigerian Human Rights Activist Sowore Omoyele

                   Sponsored by Amnesty International, 
  the MIT African Students' Association, and the Public Service Center.

**************************************************************************

Sowore Omoyele, a leader of the Nigerian pro-democracy movement, organized 
many student protests against military dictatorships.  Despite being tortured 
several times by the police, he continues to lead the movement.  He is a
spokesman for Amnesty International's Campaign Against Torture.   He will 
also discuss the impact of multinational oil companies in the Niger Delta.
