Wen Ho Lee: Spy of the Century?
Thursday, September 14, 7:00-8:30 pm
MIT Campus, Building 4, Room 231 (4-231)
For a map, see: http://whereis.mit.edu/bin/map?state=0&pri.x=321&pri.y=130
Wen Ho Lee, a Taiwanese-American scientist, worked in Los Alamos'
top-secret X Division for the past 20 years. After nine months in
solitary confinement in Los Alamos under armed guard supervision,
Dr. Lee is expected to be finally released, agreeing to a plea bargain
that will convict him of a felony count for unlawfully retaining nuclear
weapon secrets.
The purpose of the forum is to discuss the recent events that have
transpired and reflect on the implications of the case. A presentation,
entitled 'Why the Wen Ho Lee Case Matters to MIT' will be given by
graduate student Roger Hu, along with clips from 60 Minutes and a WGBH
broadcast about the case.
All interested students, faculty, and community members are encouraged to
attend. Because of the high-profile nature of the case, it is important
that the MIT and Boston community express their opinion about the
matter. Please come early because of limited seating capacity.
NOTE: The event will happen regardless of whether or not Dr. Lee is
release on Wednesday.
Sponsored by the MIT Asian Pacific American Caucus and the Wen Ho Lee
Defense Committee
For more information about the case, e-mail Roger Hu at rhu@mit.edu. Also
