Subject: Last Chance to help get Nader on the Ballot
The Massachusetts Green Party needs signatures from 10,000 registered
voters to get Ralph Nader on the ballot for president in November. With
only ONE WEEK left to get signatures, we have almost reached our goal,
but we need your help to get that number over the top! Signatures are
due into the town clerks by August 1.
We will be meeting THIS SATURDAY, July 29th, 11:30 AM, in the brick
'bowl' next to the Harvard Square T Station and the Out-of-Town News.
Please bring any petitions you have already (blank or not), a clipboard
or sturdy cardboard, and ballpoint pens. You will be able to meet up
with other volunteers and go out to various signature gathering sites
around Boston and Cambridge.
Don't let lack of transportation keep you away from this event! I may
be able to arrange a ride for you if you live far away. The advantage
to collecting signatures in Boston is that, at this late date, it will
be much easier for us to submit them to the town clerks.
Feel free to forward this message to your own lists.
***OTHER OPPORTUNITIES***
Once we get our signatures in, we will need town, ward, and precinct
coordinators all over Massachusetts. Coordinators are contact people at
the local level, distribute yard signs and other materials, and work the
polls on election day.
New Hampshire needs our help! -----> New Hampshire's signature deadline
is one week after ours. They are in dire need of volunteers to come
help with their signature drive from August 1st to August 8th,
particularly the weekend of the 5th & 6th.
PLEASE RESPOND BY EMAIL IF YOU CAN:
** collect signatures with us on Saturday
** be a local coordinator for the campaign
** travel with us to help with NH's signature drive (let me know when
you're available to go, whether you can offer others a ride, or whether
you will need a ride)
