Hi Everyone,
Want to help SEIZE THE DEMOCRACY?!!?
Join us as we go out and get signatures to get Nader/LaDuke
on the Mass ballot. Last weekend we got almost 3,000 signatures
with the help of Western Mass greens who came in for the day.
We have somewhere in the neighborhood of 14,000 "raw" signatures.
We need 10,000 "verified." The acceptance rate for signatures is
between 50%-90%, so to be absolutely safe, we would like to
exceed 20,000 "raw" signatures. The deadline for turning in
"raw" signatures is Aug 1, so we don't have a lot of time remaining.
We will be gathering more Nader ballot signatures Saturday, meeting at
11:30 at the Out of Town News in Harvard square. Some of us may be going
to the Tall Ships to gather, so if you want to see the ships...
Please e-mail Dan Kesh, dkesh@channel1.com if you can make it, so that he
has an idea of what's going on. He will have blanks and maybe clip-boards,
but a legal sized clip board is a great investment for any activist. You
can get one at Pearl Arts (next to Harvest Coop) for less than $2.
I am planning to go to the State House at 3:30 for the prison unity projects
vigil for Prisoners rights and for ending the death penalty. If you
would like to join me for that, that would be great. (Don't worry, you
get to take a full lunch break-- we're all about sustainable activism!!)
In unity,
Aimee
PS I know it seems like a lot of work and that there are a lot of unfair
hurdles, but if we look long term about steadily growing a party that will
serve as a challenge to corporate-owned-death-machines, I think you will see
pretty quickly that our efforts are not for nothing. "The people united can
never be defeated!" So, let's get to work on getting us together!
