Fight domestic structural adjustment! This Monday, May 15, join
activists from across the state at the sixth annual

                    Mothers' March

to oppose welfare "reform" and to honor the labor of women!
The policies of welfare reform have had devastating effects on people
struggling with poverty. At the same time, they have strengthened
corporations by forcing people into low-wage jobs. Such policies parallel
those of IMF structural adjustment programs in other countries, which also
strip social services and hurt the poor while benefitting wealthy
corporations.

Everyone (not just mothers!) is invited to join this powerful march and
rally! It will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the African Meeting House off Joy
Street on Beacon Hill, behind the State House. The march will then wind
through City Hall Plaza and continue on to the State House by about 12:00 or
12:15. If there are enough people present, we will form a human chain around
the State House, and then gather out front for speeches, music, and
inspiration. The event should end by 2:00. For more information, please
call Working Massachusetts, the state's labor-welfare coalition, at (617)
482-4471 x19, or e-mail WkgMass@aol.com.
