Subject: HELP ALL ASIA...

Save the All Asia Restaurant. Help them keep their license!

All Asia is a small restaurant in Cambridge that provides community
space for multi-cultural music and supports peace and justice.

All Asia is a community-oriented small business that is being
threatened with loss of their license(which will probably result in
the closing of the club) because of what appears to have been an
isolated instance of disorderly conduct by two patrons that led to
assault charges against those patrons. The attempt to deny the All
Asia its license on the basis of this one incident seems
disproportionate and unjust. The patrons of the restaurant know it
to be a quiet and welcoming community-oriented business. The denial
of All Asia's license would be a loss to the Central Square
community and beyond.

Come Support:
Please come to the public licensing hearing on Tuesday June 3rd at
6pm at the Municipal Building, 831 Massachusetts Avenue next to City
Hall in Cambridge. The more people the better. Let's show that there
is strong community support for All Asia. If you have performed at
All Asia or have listened to music there, you know what a decent
club it is. I can't think of any other club that presents all styles
of music and art in a manner that's consistent with open community.
It's essentially a Community Arts Center. It is hard on a community
and a loss for all of us when a club like this one closes. We need
to have businesses that continually strive to include all parts of
the community in it's structure and presentation. All Asia is one of
these. As one who has participated in putting together, creating and
running venues for all of us to participate in, and as one who has
been involved in the music and arts community forever, I urge you to
come down and support All Asia in their time of need. It might only
be a few minutes of your time or it might be an hour or two, but
it's important: Be part of the process of standing up for and
creating your community!

Another action you can do is to call Cambridge City Council Members.
Ask them to intervene on the behalf of All Asia. Be polite. Talk
about the benefit of having a place like All Asia in the community.
