A talk by Dr. Robert Fisk, Middle East correspondent
for The Independent of London
Wednesday, February 5th

Dr. Fisk's will share with the Boston community his examination of September
11th as America debates war with Iraq, as well as the response of American
journalism to the issues of the Middle East critical to the American public in
the wake of the terrorist attacks of September 11th.
Over his years as a journalist, Dr. Fisk covered the Iranian revolution,
the Iran-Iraq war, the Persian Gulf war, and the conflict in Algeria. Dr.
Fisk has been the recipient of several awards for his work, is a seven-time
winner of the British International Journalist of the Year award, a
two-time winner of the Amnesty International UK Press Award, and a winner
of the John Hopkins SIAS-CIBA Prize for International Journalism. Dr. Fisk
is also the author of three books: The Point of No Return: The Strike Which
Broke the British in Ulster (1975), In Time of War: Ireland, Ulster, and
the Price of Neutrality (1982, 1983), and Pity the Nation: Lebanon at War
(1990, 1992).
